The Five Lens Enneagram

A Better Way to Understand and Grow People

Why We Built the Five Lens Model

Most psychometric assessments focus on identifying a person’s dominant personality “type”—usually based on fixed traits or behavioural patterns. One well-known example is the Enneagram, a powerful model that outlines nine core personality styles and how individuals typically think, feel, and behave.

At Five Lens, we saw the value in the Enneagram—but also its limits. While it provides deep psychological insight, traditional Enneagram assessments tend to reduce people to a static “type,” which can limit personal growth or lead to self-labelling.

We built the Five Lens model to go beyond that.

Our system expands on the Enneagram, integrating it with four additional developmental “lenses” that give a richer, more dynamic view of human behaviour. It helps identify not just who someone is, but how they behave across contexts, what drives them, and where they can grow—all crucial insights for both individual coaching and organisational development.

Whether you’re guiding personal transformation or managing team performance, Five Lens gives you tools to unlock human potential—not just describe it.

The Problem with Traditional Models

Many popular psychometric assessments:

  • Reduce people to a fixed “type”

  • Overlook how behavior shifts across contexts

  • Struggle to account for nuance or growth

  • Can reinforce rigid identities, limiting personal development

The result? People feel boxed in, and practitioners are left without meaningful levers for development.

What Makes Five Lens Different

What we do that sets us apart:

  • Measure behaviour across all patterns of the respected Enneagram framework—not just the dominant type

  • Incorporate four additional developmental frameworks (lenses) to uncover new dimensions of growth

  • Provide actionable reports for practitioners that provide practical insights and next steps

  • Tailor recommendations to individual growth levels, helping people move from awareness to tangible behavioural change

The result? Instead of labelling and limiting, Five Lens assessments empower genuine self-awareness, personal transformation, leadership development and sustainable organisational growth.
